Sometimes a short wire length within the light fixture could be at fault. The fault could lie in the LED bulb, in the wiring, or in the current regulation. Happy to replace the dimmer with something else if needed - would prefer not to replace all the bulbs unless they really are just not fit for purpose. To cut to the chase, three points of fault usually make lights flicker.

If many lights flicker at the same time, then there could be a problem at the panel or the junction point that could be loose and requires retightening. This would be a result of poor handiwork during the placement of fixtures to the connection point. There is an adjustment screw on the dimmer with instruction to 'turn if they bulbs flicker' but all this seems to do is set a minimum brightness - it's not a phase adjustment or anything.Īre they just **** bulbs (they were cheap for dimmables!)? or **** dimmer? Cant see how it can be wiring or fittings- theres nothing there to go wrong! Loose wiring or bulb- loose connections and circuits can cause LED lights to flicker. Still flickers just as bad at anything other than 100% eg even 80-90% - not just 'really dim'. Just retrofitted today 9 off Screwfix allegedly dimmable 5W GU10 lamps (9326P) into an existing household circuit of 9 mains downlighters (previously working fine with existing dimmer using halogen bulbs).Īt anything other than 100% brightness they all flicker (in time with each other, not randomly).Īssuming it was a dimmer issue, I have now replaced the existing unit with a Screwfix 1967J dimmer, which specifically mentions LED loads in the instructions.
